Quick Way to Sell
Your Consulting Expertise

by Monique Harris

Let's face it. You can be among the biggest, brightest and best consultants in the world, and without an information product, you still wouldn't be deemed as captivating as the medi- ocre consultant WITH an information product.

It's the truth, no matter how hard and cold it is. Somehow when you put your words of wisdom into formation, people automatically perceive you as an even greater guru, more powerful guru than you previously were.

Information not only sells, it helps to sell YOU!

Almost immediately after I started selling my infoproduct, that once latent consulting business took off - ZOOM! - like a rocket. Now, I actually have to turn prospects away because I've got more than business to handle right now.

There is no 'magical secret' to my success. My information products open doors that mere letters and business cards could never reach. (In fact, I don't even have business cards. Isn't that something!)

Now before you start moaning and groaning about how time consuming it is to create an information product, think about it like this. If it takes you 3 months to write one booklet - (and that's writing a page or two per day) - and in six months you end up selling 1,000 copies of that booklet at $19.95 a pop, isn't that $19,950 you've earned, a nice payoff for your time?

If you knew that booklet would help you secure five $5,000 consulting assignments, I bet you'd put it together in a week!

But that's no fantastic 'what-if' scenario. Things like this can actually happen when you take the time to package your brain food. And that's where my 3-In-One Profit Formula comes into play.

This formula will help you create a 100% original information product in under a month. And what makes it so sweet is that you won't have to come up with all of the content AND you could even get paid for the infoproduct - while putting together. It's simple, yet profoundly effective.

Okay enough chatter. You want to know what this formula is don't you? Okay, here it is:

STEP #1 - Offer to give a tele-seminar.
What is a tele-seminar? In a nutshell, it's an informative presentation that you give over the telephone.

Participants call a central bridge number, at a designated time, and everybody is patched in to the same location.

Tele-seminars, (also referred to as 'teleclasses'), are rapidly becoming a popular venue for consultants and speakers to spread their knowledge, without having to go through the rigors of travel. And participants are not limited by geographic location. This makes tele-seminars a perfect service to promote on the Internet.

You can make your tele-seminar a single, hour long presentation. Or - (and this is the preferable choice) - four, hour long sessions. Four, 60- minute presentations allows you to...

STEP #2 - Create a complete audio program.
While you're doing the tele-seminar, tape it with a quality recorder.

This gives you four hours of solid, salable material, 100% original, and you didn't have to create it all by yourself. Not to mention the fact that you did it all within the comfort of your home.

STEP #3 - Distribute the audio program.
Although the most obvious thing to do is to sell the tapes, here are a few other ideas for generating publicity and sales:

  • Give them away as premium items.
  • Sell them wholesale to other companies, as premium items.
  • Send them to 'warm' prospects.
  • Transform them into RealAudio files , and offer the seminars on your Web site.
  • Send them to various publications for review.
  • Get other consultants/trainers to sell them.
  • Offer them as a prize for taking a survey on your Web site.
Simple concept, huh? But don't let the easy, breezy attitude fool you. A simple infoproduct like this is the perfect start to the beginning of an information empire.

All you really have to devote is 10-15 good hours to develop an outline for the tele-seminar, a handout, and a marketing strategy. If you currently do presentations/seminars, then you can easily adapt the material you currently use for your tele-seminar.

Plus, there are two ADDITIONAL ways that you can profit from this formula:

    1) Charge people to attend your tele-seminar.
If you presented a 4-week tele-seminar, charged $99 per attendee, and limited it to a maximum of 20 participants, you'd make almost $2,000. Not bad for four hours of talking on the phone.

    2) Create a companion booklet.
Once your audio cassettes are done, you can add even more value to them, by creating booklets, and selling them as a set.

So there you have it. A complete formula for making a few extra thousand dollars, using the skills that you already have. Will you take advantage of an opportunity that so many consultants pass up?

The choice to profit is yours!
