Many experts tell me that to build a body of work, the best thing is to create a series of the same theme or even the same image in different variations. So, I am setting a new goal. Ten new versions of my Sarasota Sunset.
It will take a lot of work, because I paint these on quite large canvas, 24×36, and every element needs to be layered many times. Yellow is the worst, it takes sometimes ten layers to achieve the opaque look, the way it needs to be.
Here are the first two: the Sunset #2 and #3.
Hope to finish these babies before Saturday – it is a deadline to submit to new art shows in Venice and Bradenton.
